The Latest on Maggie
Maggie Brooks Carter was born August 1 at 10:45 PM, weighing 3 lb 11 oz, and 17 inches long. She came six weeks early, and along with that came some complications. We were released (VERY reluctantly--Mike offered to break open my incision to see if we could get a few more days) this evening. Maggie is breathing on her own (which we feel very blessed about), and is just trying to gain some weight, eat without a tube (she is only using the tube every third feeding, otherwise she is getting it from me), and regulate her own body temperature. SO, I am guessing in about 2-3 weeks she will be released from the NICU, hoping for the two weeks. We have attached some pics... We are so excited she is here, and for the most part, very healthy. And, if I don't say so myself, such a little fighter.

Bonnie and Mike... I just want you both to know that Eric and I are thinking about all three of you! You all are in out thoughts and prayers. I have a really good feeling Little Maggie will be coming home sooner than you think. If she is anything like her mother she will be letting the nurses in th NIC unit know that she is the boss. She looks great! You should be proud to be blessed with such a beautiful, strong fighter like Maggie! You both did great! Hang in there you will have her home very soon. Rest while you can! congratulations bonnie and mike! baby maggie looks like a little scrapper! watch out though, amy is already puttin a bid in for cadden's baby bride to be...unless general jackson has anything to say about that? it's on! i've got five on jackson!
